Tips for doing well in Mrs. L's class |
Grading Information |
Materials to bring to class everyday |
1. Come to class prepared. Because this is a rigorous science course, "being prepared" means more than just bringing a pencil and paper; it will greatly improve students' ability to contribute in class, participate in labs and be successful in the course if they are becoming familiar with the vocabulary of the chapter in the textbook before we discuss it in class.
2. Be on time= be in your seat when the bell rings. 3. Participate! Whether it is a lab or class discussion, you will only benefit from being engaged. 4. Try not to miss class. I know many students are seniors and going on college trips, sporting events, and other school activities, but coming to class regularly will help keep students from falling behind. BUT, if you are absent, check the "What did I miss?" folders at the back of the room and check with a friend or my website to catch up on any notes; if you still have questions, please ask. 5. Study a little bit each night what we covered that day in class; this is the best way to prevent last minute "cram" studying. |

Suggestions:
Pen or Pencil (or both!) Your ORGANIZED Binder- I recommend a 3-ring binder that is at least 1 1/2 inches with tab dividers for each of the following sections: -Syllabus and other Forms -Notes -Homework -Returned work/quizzes/labs/tests -Notebook paper ***I understand students like to combine notebooks with other classes to reduce the number of binders they need to carry; I am fine with this as long as they are able to keep their Anatomy notes neat and organized. A full list is posted in Portal. |
